Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a very important role by making sure the charity is run in the interests of the people it is there to support.
Our Trustees ensure we have a clear strategy, and that the work we do will help us achieve our vision:
“It is the organisation’s vision that unpaid Carers in West Cumbria have full access to services to support them in their caring role, fulfil their own needs as individuals and have services in place to help them move forward when their caring role comes to an end. West Cumbria Carers aims to gain recognition of the contribution Carers make to society”
Trustees work as part of a team, using their unique skills and experience to make important decisions about the management and administration of the organisation.
At West Cumbria Carers we are very lucky to have a Board who are passionate about and committed to the work that we do.
They meet regularly throughout the year to review current services as well as planning for the future. They also keep up to date with our finances, governance and safeguarding issues.
Every member of our board is invaluable to the organisation. Without them generously volunteering their time we would not be able to support and improve the quality of life of Carers in West Cumbria.

The Board of Trustees meets bi-monthly for approximately 2 hours. There is an extra time commitment for Trustees who are involved in one of our sub-groups.
