As a carer do you regularly put your own needs at the bottom of the priority list because your main concern is the person you care for?
It is vital that you maintain your physical, emotional and mental health to enable you to continue in your caring role.
We have linked in with several departments at the West Cumberland Hospital (Cumbria NHS Partnership Trust) to hold a free health and well-being day for all unpaid carers. This is a fantastic opportunity to come along and speak to health professionals for advice and support.
West Cumbria Carers Support staff will also be on hand throughout the day to talk with you. Support staff will also be available to have a chat with the person you are caring for should you wish to have some time with the health teams.
A host of other relevant agencies have also been invited to come along including Cumbria Fire and Rescue Team, Copeland and Allerdale Autism Support Group and many others.
Carers will also have the opportunity to partake in a couple of activity taster workshops.
