New service helps people avoid a hospital stay

A new service based in West Cumberland Hospital (WCH) Accident & Emergency (A&E) department is working to help people avoid a hospital stay and reduce pressure on health and care services. The Home First team assess all patients over 75 who enter A&E as well as those under 75 with obvious therapy or social care needs.

We will be holding a Young Carers Cinema Trip Monday 12th February at 1.30pm to see Early Man at the Gaiety Cinema in Whitehaven. The film is an animation and has a PG certificate, it stars Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams and Eddie Redmayne. Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of Dug, along with sidekick Hognob as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy Lord Nooth and his Bronze Age City to save their home.
