The current lockdown has meant big changes to normal day-to-day activities: not going to school, not going outdoors much and not being able to meet up with friends. For Young Carers this also means less chances to have a break from your caring role. All of these changes can lead to more feelings of stress and anxiety.

We are deeply saddened to hear that John Head has recently passed away. For more than 10 years John and the Rotary club of Workington have been an amazing source of support for the Young Carers Project. John was a lovely man who felt that young carers were amazing young people with responsibilities far beyond their years.

Due to COVID-19 we had to cancel our Young Carers Easter trips and activities. To help ease the disappointment, and pass the time until we can get together again, we are providing some activities for you to do at home. Working in collaboration with The Crafty Workshop we have arranged to have some craft kits sent out to Young Carers registered with us.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak we have made some changes to our working practices in order to protect the carers that we work with and the vulnerable people that they care for. In accordance with recommended government guidelines we have closed our offices in Cockermouth and our staff are now working securely and effectively from home.
