How to get in touch

Anyone can let us know about someone who would benefit from contact with us.

Referrals are taken by filling in a form with basic details about the person who is a Carer, and the person they Care for.

You can self refer, by telephoning the office.

You can refer someone you know who you think may benefit from contact from West Cumbria Carers. However, because a referral involves the passing of personal information, it is essential that you make a referral with the knowledge of the person you are referring.

Professionals can refer, such as teachers, Social Workers, STINT Team, District Nurses, Rehabilitation Officers; the list is endless.

Once a referral has been made, it will be ‘allocated’/passed to one of our five Adult Support Workers. Allocation takes place on a Monday, every week.

After it has been Allocated, the Support Worker will endeavour to make contact with you within a week.

Our aim is, the longest it will ever be between referral and contact from one of our Support Workers is 14 days.
