Cumbria Caring & Employment Project
If you are a Carer who is in work or seeking employment, the employment project exists to provide you with the unique support you may need:

One-to-one support, including
Support or advocacy in your workplace if you are facing issues caused by your caring role
Support in re-entering employment, such as seeking training opportunities
Support with benefits or Carers Allowance
Information and sign posting services
Access to counselling

 We also:

Work with employers to promote understanding of the needs of working Carers
Work to instil a positive attitude to the solution of issues relating to working Carers
Encourage appreciation of the skills and experience of all staff
Offer support to individuals, employee representatives and employer organisations
Many Carers are unaware of the help that is available and that Carers are entitled to a Carers Assessment carried out by an independent service.  This is an important key to getting help with working and being a Carer, so our Support Worker will assist you with completing a Carers Assessment or reviewing your existing Carers Assessment as a foundation for helping you get the support you need.
